Answer: I got the small size for a 12 lb yorkie mix. But the problem with this is that you have to be exact. It was just a little too big for my dog so it didn't stop him from barking. I also bought the kind that has velcro so you can adjust the fit. That worked better for us. -

Would a size 3 be good for an average sized pit bull?
Answer: It might be, they seem to run large. This muzzle comes off very easily. I would recommend one that has the wire cage around the muzzle and that is better rated.The good thing is that if it does not fit you can always return it for a different size at no shipping cost. I used to train guard dogs and would advise strict training for any unfavorable behavior from the start. Don't be afraid to give a pop on the snout and firmly say no. You must let them know from the start that you are in charge and they are expected to be submissive to you. Be sure and socialize the dog but never trust them 100% around children. A quick snap is their way of saying no, train the child. I now have 2 Pomeranian and they have been more aggressive than any large dog I have trained. One is a 4 year old rescue who was extremely vicious would attack and not stop. Under strict discipline he is now a loving lap dog with no more attacks. Bottom line, you must let them know you are boss and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated You will have a much happier pet. I know Pits perception by the public but I know if trained and loved they can make a wonderful pet. It is the owner not the dog.. Good Luck! -

Answer: Size 0 did fit my Chihuahua but he was about 8lbs. -

Answer: Size 0 (XXS) fits teacup/toy breed dogs. It will fit snouts up to 4.5 inches. -

Answer: It wraps around the mouth and it has an opening in the front with a snap clip buckle to secure. -

Answer: Well, I have a small 9 lb maltipoo so I did order the smaller size. I believe you just need to measure around the mouth area. However, it slides off too easy, my dog can take off at anytime and she can bark also with it on. -
