The unit does not need any velcro to hold it against the door, and it fits perfectly on a 1 3/4-inch deep door. The shelves are 5 inches wide and 15 inches long with some shelves being 3.5 inches, while others are 6.5 inches deep. Unfortunately, some customers have received broken baskets, and some have complained that the unit is not well made and that the shelves do not fit in the slots properly. Moreover, some customers dislike the design of the connection for the hanging strips, since it kept falling off at first. However, most customers enjoy having the product as it frees up space and holds smaller items that would have otherwise gotten lost behind other things. Customers who screwed the unit down have not had any issues with it moving. The main downside is that the baskets are not full baskets, and there is no edge on the backside, making it possible for thinner items to slip down.
