The Fieldpiece DR58 is a heated diode refrigerant leak detector that is very accurate in detecting micro leaks. It has 3 means of informing where and how big the leak is. This tool is very trustworthy and makes finding leaks easy. It works with different refrigerants, such as R404a, R134a, R22, 410, and the replacements for 22 such as 99 and 427a. This detector is very sensitive, so you need to keep the tip filter dry or buy extra filters and replace them regularly. If there are other chemicals in the air around it, it might give false alarms such as PVC glue on the condensate drain nearby. Although it gives false positives on the high setting, it works great on the medium setting. Leak checking with this tool first is recommended because the bubble spray interferes with locating a leak.
