Airfix Airplane & Jet Kits A04053B Editorial Review
The Airfix model kit of the Tiger Moth has received overwhelmingly positive feedback since its release in 2014, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor which had been in circulation since 1957. Under Hornby's ownership, the quality of Airfix products has notably improved, and this kit exemplifies a commitment to both accuracy and detail, appealing to dedicated model builders as well as those with some experience looking for a challenging yet rewarding build. Customers appreciate the kit's thoughtful design, featuring finely detailed components and two different versions to build, showcasing the aircraft in varied paint schemes. The kit includes intricate cockpit details and allows builders to display the plane with the wings either unfolded or folded for a more authentic look. Reviewers have noted the high-quality decals as an additional highlight. Despite its advanced features, some users caution that the kit is not necessarily for beginners due to the wealth of small parts that require precision. While the engineering is regarded as excellent, some criticisms have been directed towards the inclusion of smaller pieces which can be challenging to manage. Additionally, the absence of certain elements, such as the Lewis gun, has also been mentioned by reviewers. Overall, the Airfix Tiger Moth model kit is highly recommended for intermediate to experienced hobbyists who value quality and detail in their modeling projects. **
