Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question: What is the NVX XSBI200 Dual Sensing Smart Relay Battery Isolator?

Answer: The NVX XSBI200 is a microprocessor-controlled battery isolator designed to manage dual battery systems effectively. It monitors voltage levels of the primary and secondary batteries, automatically connecting and disconnecting them based on the vehicle's usage. This ensures that the primary battery remains charged while providing power to auxiliary accessories, making it perfect for RVs, boats, and vehicles with additional electrical demands.
  • Question: How does the dual sensing feature of the NVX XSBI200 work?

Answer: The dual sensing feature of the NVX XSBI200 allows the isolator to monitor two different battery voltages simultaneously. When the primary battery reaches a certain voltage, the isolator connects to charge the secondary battery. Conversely, if the voltage drops, it disconnects the secondary battery, preventing drain on the primary battery. This intelligent management is especially useful in scenarios where you rely on additional power sources like camping lights or sound systems without risking main battery failure.
  • Question: What is the advantage of using a microprocessor-controlled isolator?

Answer: Microprocessor-controlled isolators like the NVX XSBI200 provide superior management over traditional isolators by offering smarter voltage sensing and connection control. This technology ensures optimal charging efficiency and minimizes the risk of battery discharge. For anyone using the isolator for heavy-duty power needs, such as in off-roading vehicles or mobile setups, the microprocessor's precision enhances the reliability of power distribution, making it an ideal choice for demanding environments.
  • Question: Can the NVX XSBI200 be used with lithium batteries?

Answer: Yes, the NVX XSBI200 is compatible with various battery types, including lithium batteries, which are increasingly used for their lightweight and longevity benefits. When integrating it into a setup that includes lithium batteries, ensure that the specific charging requirements are met, as some lithium batteries have different voltage thresholds. This capability allows users to upgrade their systems without changing the isolator, accommodating evolving power needs.
  • Question: What are the typical applications for the NVX XSBI200?

Answer: The NVX XSBI200 is versatile, finding applications in RVs, boats, trucks, and even specialized vehicles like ambulances or emergency service units. By efficiently managing multiple battery systems, it supports scenarios where auxiliary power is crucial, such as powering lights, refrigerators, or audio equipment during extended trips. This makes it invaluable for adventurers and professionals who depend on reliable power for their multiple battery setups.
  • Question: How does the NVX XSBI200 prevent battery over-discharge?

Answer: The NVX XSBI200 includes built-in protections that automatically disconnect the secondary battery when the primary battery's voltage drops below a safe threshold. This prevents over-discharge, ensuring that you won't be left stranded with a dead primary battery. This feature is particularly beneficial for users who frequently use heavy electrical components, as it maintains the primary battery's integrity while allowing secondary battery usage.
  • Question: What type of installation is required for the NVX XSBI200?

Answer: Installing the NVX XSBI200 generally requires connecting it to your vehicle's battery system, which involves securing appropriate wiring and ensuring proper voltage sensing connections. It’s recommended to have a qualified technician for installation if you're unfamiliar with automotive electrical systems. This ensures a safe and efficient setup, allowing you to maximize the isolator's performance while minimizing potential risks associated with incorrect installation.
  • Question: Is the NVX XSBI200 suitable for extreme conditions?

Answer: Yes, the NVX XSBI200 is designed to operate effectively in extreme conditions, whether it's high temperatures in the summer or below freezing in winter. Its durable build ensures it withstands environmental factors while still performing optimally. This resilience is critical for users who operate in harsh settings, such as off-roading or during outdoor adventures, where reliable battery management is a must for prolonged operations.
  • Question: What are the indicators on the NVX XSBI200 and what do they signify?

Answer: The NVX XSBI200 features LED indicators that provide users with real-time information on the operational status of the battery system. These indicators can show whether the primary battery is charging, if the isolator is engaged, or if there are any errors. This instant feedback allows users to quickly assess the battery health and operation, ensuring they can make timely decisions when managing power needs on the go.
  • Question: Where can I buy the NVX XSBI200 Dual Sensing Smart Relay Battery Isolator in Zambia?

Answer: You can purchase the NVX XSBI200 Dual Sensing Smart Relay Battery Isolator through Ubuy, a reliable online retailer that offers a wide range of electronics and accessories. NVX Battery Switches Editorial Review

The NVX XSBI500 Microprocessor-Controlled 500 Amp, Dual Sensing Smart Relay Battery Isolator is a useful tool for anyone with auxiliary power needs. The microprocessor takes care of everything and there is no need for an ignition wire. This battery isolator does need grounding and is designed to be mounted under the hood of a vehicle. While it may be water resistant, it is not recommended to submerge it due to the external electrical contacts. This battery isolator does a good job of managing current flow, automatically kicking off the auxiliary battery until 13.3 volts and then charging it back to full capacity. The isolator is designed to isolate batteries when the input voltage from the front battery drops below 12.7V, but it does come with a manual override button if you need to connect both batteries momentarily. Repairing any fault or issue with the second battery or load side battery cable is essential to the proper functioning of this isolator. It is important to note that this isolator only charges the auxiliary battery and will not start the vehicle on its own. However, one could jump start the vehicle by using the auxiliary battery or by connecting the two batteries with a knife switch.
