The outdoor sensor can survive in a severe weather zone: 4B. It does not affect the sensor even if it rains on and off during the year. The display area is about 6" x 6" and is easy to read even from a distance. However, some customers have reported issues with the accuracy of indoor and wind speed readings, and some have had to replace the outdoor sensor multiple times under warranty. Some customers also reported poor customer service from AcuRite.
