Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question: What is the NOVUS-PK1-8 and what does it include?

Answer: The NOVUS-PK1-8 is a comprehensive cleaning and polishing kit designed for plastics. It includes four products: Plastic Clean & Shine #1, Fine Scratch Remover #2, Heavy Scratch Remover #3, and Polish Mates Pack, all in convenient 8-ounce bottles. This combo allows users to clean, polish, and restore surfaces effectively. For instance, if you have a scratched acrylic display or a dull helmet visor, this kit provides the necessary tools to revive those items, making it ideal for both personal and professional use.
  • Question: How does Fine Scratch Remover #2 differ from Heavy Scratch Remover #3?

Answer: Fine Scratch Remover #2 is specifically formulated to target light scratches and restore clarity to plastic surfaces. In contrast, Heavy Scratch Remover #3 tackles deeper scratches and scuff marks, utilizing more abrasive compounds to effectively level the surface. By using the Fine Scratch Remover first, you can enhance the subtler imperfections before moving on to the Heavy Scratch Remover for more significant damage. This approach ensures a polished finish that is both visually appealing and protective.
  • Question: Can NOVUS-PK1-8 be used on automotive surfaces?

Answer: Yes, the NOVUS-PK1-8 is ideal for automotive applications, particularly for maintaining and restoring plastic components like headlights, dashboards, and trim. Using the Plastic Clean & Shine #1 helps maintain a clean appearance, while the scratch removers work wonders in restoring light or heavy scratches caused by wear and tear. Customers with classic cars or modern vehicles looking to enhance the aesthetic of their plastic elements will find this kit especially beneficial.
  • Question: Is this product safe for use on all types of plastic?

Answer: The NOVUS-PK1-8 is designed to be safe for a wide variety of plastic types, including acrylic, polycarbonate, and vinyl surfaces. However, it is always recommended to conduct a spot test on a small, inconspicuous area before full application. This ensures compatibility, as some plastics may react differently. By doing so, users can avoid any unforeseen reactions and achieve the best results without damaging the surface.
  • Question: What types of environments can I use the NOVUS cleaner in?

Answer: The NOVUS-PK1-8 can be used in various environments, such as homes, garages, workshops, and even commercial settings like display cases or retail spaces. Its versatile formulations make it effective for household items, automotive components, and even electronics. For example, you might use it in a workshop to maintain tools or in a retail shop to keep showcase items looking pristine. Its easy application method makes it suitable for both professional and casual users.
  • Question: How often should I use the NOVUS plastic care products?

Answer: The frequency of use for NOVUS-PK1-8 depends on the condition of the plastic surfaces you are maintaining. For lightly used items, a clean and shine application may be sufficient every few months. However, for surfaces exposed to harsh conditions or frequent handling, you may want to use the scratch removers more regularly, such as every few weeks. This ensures your items stay in top condition, prolonging their lifespan and maintaining clarity and shine.
  • Question: Can I use this kit on outdoor furniture?

Answer: Yes, the NOVUS-PK1-8 is suitable for cleaning and polishing outdoor plastic furniture. The Plastic Clean & Shine #1 effectively removes dirt and grime build-up, while the scratch removers can restore any unsightly marks from weather exposure. Regular use helps maintain the furniture's appearance and prevents deterioration. For example, if you have weathered garden chairs, this kit can help keep them looking new and appealing throughout the season.
  • Question: Is the NOVUS kit effective for electronic screens?

Answer: The NOVUS-PK1-8 is effective on many plastic surfaces, including some electronic screens, particularly those made of polycarbonate or acrylic. However, it's essential to avoid using the fine and heavy scratch removers on sensitive screens unless they are specifically designed for such materials. Instead, opt for the Plastic Clean & Shine #1 to safely clean screens without scratching. This makes it great for maintaining the clarity of device cases or screen protectors.
  • Question: How should I apply the NOVUS products for best results?

Answer: For optimal results with the NOVUS-PK1-8, start by cleaning the surface with Plastic Clean & Shine #1 using a soft cloth. If scratches are present, apply Fine Scratch Remover #2 in a circular motion, using a different cloth. For deeper scratches, follow up with Heavy Scratch Remover #3. Always ensure surfaces are clean before application, and buff with a microfiber cloth for a brilliant finish. This method enhances the look of your items and provides added protection against future damage.
