Answer: 210 gallon tank. fresh water turn over 8 times saltwater turn over 11 times . Some hobbiest may turn over the tank more than this. SP6 3400 gph , now you need to know the hose foot going up from where pump sits to output spill into tank. Also bends in hose will cause back pressure friction. Knowing length of hose and bends in hose. Then you look at the flow chart. go to google fluval and go to products then go to water pumps. SP6 at 6 foot of head is giving 2000gph. Know the facts do your research. Draw a diagram of what your doing then measure the pipe or hose and count bends in hose to come up with back pressure in foot measure. Every foot up is 1 foot back pressure, every 2 x 90 degree elbows is 1 foot back pressure. This will let you read a flow chart. Dont just buy a pump and guess, you will be charged for opening the box. Contact the seller and have the diagram sent to him and then let the seller help you for a perfect fit.
