Answer: No, they only fit the Type 1 upright motors. -

Will this work for 1970 1600?
Answer: I don’t know. I know it doesn’t fit a 66 1600. You can have the one I bought if it fits your VW? I was gonna cut it up for the chrome mesh to be used as a radio speaker cover.
