Answer: I can only estimate it, I am able to do a double knot, therefore it’s quite adequate and it’s also a sturdy lace, very strong. -

Answer: It hasn’t yet in my experience. The shoelaces are fat, though, and they don’t stay tied, even when double-knotted. That means you’ll find yourself tripping over shoe laces when running between terminals.
