Action & Adventure Editorial Review
Brick [DVD] [2006] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] is a stylish modern noir that uniquely sets its narrative in a Californian high school, evoking classic films like The Big Sleep while infusing a contemporary twist. Reviewers praise its captivating storyline about a teenager, Brendan, who delves into the mystery surrounding his ex-girlfriend's disappearance. The film stands out not just for its plot, but also for its sharp dialogue and the rich use of noir slang, which enhances the viewing experience, although it might be challenging for some audiences to grasp. The DVD offers valuable English subtitles, making it accessible for all viewers, while the engaging cinematography and intense performances contribute to a recommended watch for fans of the genre.
