It takes about 3-4 minutes to self-inflate. It is recommended to use insulation between the mattress and sleeping bag to prevent transfer of cold air. One reviewer charged the battery and used it to inflate four mattresses. One negative point was that the air pump is unreliable and some customers had difficulty keeping it charged. Some customers found it uncomfortable to sleep on and found it to develop leaks easily.
