What power plug kit is needed for my unit if the fan coils have electric heat?
Answer: An air handler can be sold with or without heat. The amount of heat is determined by the sqft of the home plus other heat load required factors for sizing a/c and heat. That being said a 3 ton unit may have 5-10kw of heat in the form of electric resistance kits. A 4 ton may have 10-15kw etc etc. A unit without heat will have a plate covering the hole in the airhandler where the heat kit is supposed to be installed. The heat will come with breakers, hit strips, relays, circuit board relays and wire harness connections. Those wire harness connections are only able to be connected to its appropriate point on the circuit board. So not being able to see what youre working with id say turn off breakers to airhandler, open service panel and find wire harnesses not connected originating from hit kit and find where it can be connected non forcefully. -
