Answer: Not without the alarm system. -

Do these have a shock sensor, or just contact?
Answer: There are two types of sensors. 1. Contact, for doors and windows 2. PIR for movement. -

Do the contact sensors only register a break in contact, or do they detect inertia as well?
Answer: Just a break in the contact. -

Can I use this on Sliding Doors?
Answer: Assuming you have a way to attach them to the door then yes. The alarm is triggered when the magnet moves away from the base unit. Alarm clears when they move close together. As long as where you intend to mount it meets that requirement and doesn't catch on any other sliding portion of the door then I don't see why not. -

What is the range of the magnet, will it work at, say 25mm ?
Answer: The magnet needs to be close (5mm max) to sensor or it will see it as open. 25mm wouldn't work. -
Question:
Do I have to have a ring alarm base station or can I manage this on the alexa show or the ring app?
Answer: Yes, you have to install full alarm system to work this after runs off app and Alexa. -
Question:
Does it have a delayed alarm mode? I only want the alarm to notify me when the door is left open for a certain amount of time like 10 mins.
Answer: Not that I've found. This is a simple alarm system, not some programmable AI home automation system. -
Question:
When sticky pads don't stick anymore where does one get replacements?
Answer: Just look for a decent double sided sticky adhesive pad. Perhaps go to a ‘Number Plate’ shop and ask if they will sell you a couple of the strips they use for sticking the plate on to cars…. -
Question:
Will this alone be able to send alerts to my phone when motion is detected? Is it necessary to buy a hub?
Answer: The door contact is just a sensor and all it can do is tell the hub that a door has opened or closed. If you have a hub you need a keypad. you also need an internet connection. Its a really good system and when one of my door contacts went faulty they replaced it quickly.
